The Chopard Only Watch L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon was special designed for the Only Watch 2011 Charity Auction. It is equipped with L.U.C Calibre 1TRM unparalleled patent movement. It is a manual winding tourbillon movement equipped with quiet block resembling a car’s engine. It is a real Chopard-made movement.

To celebrate the 150 anniversary of Chopard, and the continual decades cooperation between the brand and motor sports, the Geneva-based watch brand Chopard Swiss Watches launched a special series of L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon watch in 2010. It perfectly combines the most sophisticated technology elements of racing car and watch. To support the Only Watch Charity Auction and fund the research of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Chopard released the Only Watch L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon.

From the powerful appearance lines to the most subtle details, this watch pays tribute to the spirit of the traditional car. The L.U.C Calibre 1TRM movement is supportec by three lever arm, as if suspended in the middle of case. The design, research, development and production are completed finished in Chopard workshop. It offers 28,800 vibration frequency per hour and 60 hours power reserve. With the hour, minute, second and power reserve functions, this movement won the Swiss official Observatory (COSC) certification with highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

The L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon Only Watch is a mechanical masterpiece not only due to its high-end movement, but also cause of the exquisite appearance nobody can imitate. The Titanium case with DLC plate is water resistant to 50 meters. It features the 35.4 x 44.4 mm large size. And in the side of case is engraved the “Only Watch 2011″ letters.

The dial inspiration also comes from the automotive world. Chopard uses the transparent design. L.U.C collection’s unique Arabic numerals and hour markers are blooming yellow and engraved on the back of anti-glare sapphire crystal. Hand-sewn black alligator leather strap with four ridgy “bones”, reminiscent of the classic car seat texture.

Piaget 2011 Luxury Watches

The year 2011 saw the most outstanding masterpieces of Piaget Swiss Watches, including the Piaget Altipano 34mm in Pink Gold and Piaget Limelight Garden Party Watch with diamonds and marquise-cut emeralds.

This year, the entire collection – including exquisite jewelry pieces and watches – is called the Limelight Garden Party. Among the highlights are a diamond-encrusted watch with delightfully rotating birds and leaves on the dial. Matching this are white gold and diamond earrings with white pearls and a white gold brooch, also with diamonds and pearls. Both items also feature a common bird motif.

Finally, another set worth taking note of here is a mystery watch, with diamonds and white chalcedony flowers, that will be perfectly at home with a ring and necklace – each featuring diamonds, sapphires, tourmalines, rubellites, pearls and chalcedony. If there is a message to take from the entire collection of both watches and jewelry from Piaget in 2011, it must be this: only one house can craft every single piece shown at the fair, be it timepiece or pure jewellery, and at the same time add the technical competence to build timekeeping movements, both mechanical and quartz (for the Limelight Garden Party pieces).

For 2011, the Altiplano comes in a wide variety of accents, all focused squarely on the high life and all resolutely ultra-thin. First of all, the 38mm and 34mm versions, which display the dual virtues of Piaget as a watch manufacture and as a jewelry house. Both watches feature full-set dials, with diamonds in a circular motif. The bezels and pin buckles are also fully set. In total, the watches boast 836 and 669 diamonds respectively, with cases in white gold.

In the same vein, three Altiplano models are introduced in 2011 with gem-set bezels. The 43mm white-gold model – still the thinnest automatic watch in the world, with a profile of 5.25mm – features 88 diamonds on the bezel. The 40mm watch, in rose gold, features 72 diamonds on the bezel, as does the 34mm version, although the latter also sports 28 diamonds set on the small seconds subdial. This 34mm Altiplano is meant for women, especially considering that it is offered in the very feminine combination of white alligator strap and rose-gold case.
