Hamilton X-Copter Collection Chronograph

Hamilton was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It has been the world’s biggest watch manufacturer and distributor of Swatch Group currently. Because it combines the strong American spirit and unparalleled accuracy, and the most advanced Swiss-winding movement and technology that made it stand in a leading position all over the world. And It is also connected with many famous Hollywood movies. Hamilton watch has become the favorite of many people.

Hamilton watch has a special relationship with aviation. In 1920’s, Hamilton had become the military watch supplier of armed forces of the United States. And its precision and stability made Hamilton be the designated chronograph of major U.S. airlines. In 1940’s, during World War II, Hamilton stopped manufacturing civilian watches. It specially focused on producing military watches for the U.S. armed forces. It provided a total of up to 1 million watches for the U.S. military during World War II. Hamilton Aviation collection watch continues the simplicity and fine texture of those Aviation watches in the war.

This new Hamilton X-Copter Chronograph combines strong aviation element and professional chronograph function. The whole dial is copter dashboard design. The propeller-shaped second counter is at 9 o’clock. The 30 minutes counter locates at 6 o’clock with “H” letter which symbolizes the brand name “Hamilton”. It is also the sign of Helipad. Shaking the watch, you can see the perfect operation of the automatic movement through the trigeminal propeller on case back.

This Hamilton watch not only has dynamic shape, its functions is also very special. Fahrenheit, Celsius and M.T.O.W are all included in this X-Copter Chronograph. Hamilton provides 18K pink gold and stainless steel two models. The pink gold model is equipped with brown leather strap. While the SS model is teamed with black rubber strap.

New Longines Lindbergh’s Atlantic Voyage chronograph Watch

In its developing history of vintage-styled Charles Lindbergh chronograph model, Longines Swiss Watches brushes off some dust for many times. First introduced in 1933 to mark its collaboration with the famous aviator, the Longines Lindbergh’s Atlantic Voyage chronograph watch was re-issued several times with some minor tweaking to its dial layout.

Like a genuine aviator’s watch, the new edition sports a high-contrast dial layout with bold Arabic numerals and a tachometric scale, which is actually usable. I mean, the Longines Lindbergh’s Atlantic Voyage is so large that the Swiss brand has even managed to make the numerals on the scale big enough to be seen with a naked eye.

This new sequel to the “historic” model comes in the same oversized 47.5 mm case housing a humbly decorated automatic movement that can be seen via transparent case back. The latter is protected from occasional dents with a stainless steel cover.

Louis Vuitton New Voyagez Tambour Automatic Chronograph

French luxury and leading fashion brand unveiled new Louis Vuitton Voyagez Tambour automatic chronograph watch with a tachymeter (tachometer) for 2011.

The design is very unique, and even though the Louis Vuitton Swiss Watches fashion influence is strong, their watches are more than just a fancy case around a cheap movement (a la Gucci watches, for example).  The Tambour’s modicum of eccentricity is what I like most.  This particular model is a straight-3 chrono with tachymeter and date function.  Price – about $6,000, it will be available June 2011.

Set in a 44mm wide Tambour style case, the Voyagez is in steel with a gray and red dial with black and white trim. This aggressive looks goes really well with the carbon fiber strap. Inside the watch is a Dubois-Depraz made LV172 automatic chronograph movement. The dial design uses three middle aligned subdials for the 30 minute chronograph and subsidiary seconds. This might be one of the most interesting looking chronograph layouts in a watch this year. Visually the dial is well-balanced with the LV logo and the large Arabic numeral at 12 o’clock perfectly balanced with a white date aperture at 6 o’clock. The chronograph pushers and the winding crown also look very refined.
