Recently, Rolex Swiss Watches has released its impressive Oyster Perpetual Explorer II model which features with rugged durability and reliability. This new professional master timepiece will surely become an instant favorite among mountaineers, speleologists and polar explorers. In fact, the instrument presented has a rich history behind. Thus, in 1953, the original Explorer model was sported on the wrists of Sir John Hunt, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in their glorious ascent of Everest.

This new Rolex Explorer II watch is 40mm in diameter, rendered in 904L steel. The case carries a fixed 24-hour graduated bezel which holds in place a top level sapphire crystal. It is equipped with a Cyclops lens, located over a date aperture at 3 o’clock. Also at 3 o’clock you can see a Twinlock winding crown, skillfully protected by shoulders. The model is built to be water-resistant up to 100 meters. Beneath the sapphire crystal glass is the appealing and functional white dial, comprising triangle, round and rectangular-shaped hour-markers. Outlined in black, they produce a striking contrast with the face of the model.
The hallmark feature of the new Oyster Perpetual Explorer II watch is its ability to display two different time zones simultaneously. The dial ensures central hours, minutes and seconds, indicated by means of black and white charismatic hands. And the second time-zone can be read off from a 24-hour red hand, tipped with a black and white arrow. Allied with the numerals and hour-markers, presented on the bezel, it enables the user to distinguish night hours from those of day.
The whole watch is operated by a COSC-certified calibre 3186 automatic movement. It incorporates a perpetual rotor. The caliber operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts a 48-hour power reserve. The new Rolex Explorer watch is teamed with a steel bracelet, closed with an Oysterlock clasp.
