There are two models, one with a brown dial and the other with a black dial, differentiated not only by dial colour but also by the quantity of numbered units created: 50 of the first and 100 of the second.

Radiomir 47Sporting a strange combination of Arabic and Roman numerals for the upper and lower halves of the dial respectively, this vintage design is adored by an impressive number of collectors and horology enthusiasts.

This new Panerai Radiomir Titanium 47mm Special Edition PAM 349 model sports the same California dial but replaces the original blue hands with gold ones, adds a small seconds sub-dial and introduces a rose gold chapter ring.

With cases 47 mm in diameter, cushion-shaped and water-resistant to 100 metres, the new Radiomirs of the Special Editions Collection maintain substantially the same dimensions and aesthetic characteristics as their predecessors, but when the details are examined, many radical changes and innovations become apparent. Starting with the materials used to construct the case, this is no longer stainless steel but Grade 2 titanium. This metal has been chosen for its qualities of lightness and corrosion resistance, and its hypo-allergenic characteristics.

The screw case-back reveals a sapphire crystal window. The dial is shielded by a 1.9mm-thick sapphire crystal provided with anti-reflective treatment. The crown, to be used for winding the timepiece and adjusting the hands, features the shape of a truncated cone also suggested by original Radiomir models. The screw-down crown demonstrates the historic logo of the brand.

With manual winding, the movement used in the Radiomir Titanium 47 mm is the calibre OP XXVII, 16 lignes in diameter. It too is associated with the historic models; it was developed using as a base a Minerva movement, a calibre from a House which has already supplied Panerai in the past. With 18 jewels and a balance oscillating at 18,000 alternations/hour, the movement has a power reserve of 55 hours.
